Buhari Signs Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit Bill

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday in Abuja gave autonomy to Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) through the signing of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) Bill into law. Making this disclosure, while briefing journalists in the State House, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, said NFIU was the Nigerian arm of the global Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), which he said, was hitherto domiciled in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as an autonomous unit operating in the African region.

Customs Intercept Ammunitions at Lagos

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Command, has intercepted another 40-feet container with several ammunition. The ammunitions included: 150 rounds of live ammunition; 28 pieces of various sizes of Jack knives; 149 rounds of 38mm calibre live ammunition; 92 rounds of 9mm calibre live ammunition; two rounds of 7.62mm calibre live ammunition; 11 cartridges of live ammunition; 12 expended empty shells of various calibers and one empty magazine.
