Jennifer Hudson Opens Up About Losing Mother, Brother And Nephew In Tragic 2008 Murders

Jennifer Hudson has rarely discussed the 2008 murders of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

The singer's family members were killed by her former brother-in-law William Balfour who is now serving life in prison after being convicted in 2012.
Opening up about the subject in a new interview, the singer says she managed to get through it with the help of her son David who she gave birth to in 2009

"I went from being an aunt, having a mom, and being a child to not having a mom, becoming a mom, and raising my own child,” she told Glamour magazine.
"I tell David all the time, 'You saved my life.'"
Jennifer also revealed she hates when people try to broach the subject with her if they haven’t lost anyone themselves.
