The Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, has added its voice to the criticisms trailing the list
of ministerial nominees by President Muhammadu Buhari, as announced by the
Senate on Tuesday, saying that the list is not something to rejoice about.
National
Publicity Secretary of the opposition party, Chief Olisa Metuh, who made this
known in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, asserted that those selected
to serve in Buhari’s cabinet raised doubts on the sincerity of the present
administration’s anti-corruption crusade.
According to
him, “By a mere look at the list, one can tell that there is nothing to be
excited about, especially considering the length of time it took the President
to come up with it.”
“Looking at
the list, it is hard to put a finger on why it should take any serious-minded
and focused government, six months after its election to assemble such a
regular team.”
Metuh went
on to state that the nominees and the length of time it took had further
confirmed the fact that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration
was driven by propaganda and deceit, a development he said was not healthy for
the nation.
